Understand the requirement
The used-oil EPR framework addresses defined responsibilities for producers of base or lubrication oil and importers of used oil. Other participants have their own registration roles. Producing oil, importing used oil and simply generating used oil in an operation should not be treated as the same activity without reviewing the applicable requirements.
Our preparation work follows the commercial records from product description to quantity. We help identify inconsistent units, distinguish different oil activities and organise the supporting data into a reviewable file. Where an exemption or special treatment is being considered, we flag the need for documented justification rather than assuming the business has no registration responsibility.

- Applicable facility or import authorisations
- Existing registrations and supporting declarations
Frequently asked questions
Does using lubricating oil automatically make us a producer?
No. Your actual activity and the rule definitions need review. A user, producer, importer and collector can have different responsibilities.
Can we assume exported or exempt products need no registration?
No. CPCB guidance distinguishes registration from target applicability in some situations. The facts and supporting evidence should be checked.
Does registration replace other waste permissions?
Do not assume so. Relevant handling, facility and import permissions may require a separate review.
Important to know
Used-oil obligations are activity-specific. Rombo supports documentation and coordination; it does not issue registrations or guarantee acceptance of exemption claims.
