Understand the requirement
BEE star labelling communicates energy performance for covered appliances and equipment. The programme contains mandatory and voluntary categories, with product-specific requirements. A label is therefore not a general company certification: the relevant appliance category, model and applicable performance schedule need to be established before an application is prepared.
Our support connects the measured product to the information customers will see. We help align model identifiers, technical specifications and proposed label artwork, and highlight differences between variants that need review. This gives engineering, packaging and compliance teams a shared checklist instead of treating testing, registration and artwork as unrelated tasks.

- Appliance datasheet and model list
- Applicable energy-performance test reports
- Proposed label and packaging artwork
- Existing registration details where relevant
Frequently asked questions
Is star labelling compulsory for every appliance?
No. Programme coverage and mandatory or voluntary status are product-specific and must be checked against current BEE requirements.
Can the desired star rating be selected before testing?
A rating must be supported by the applicable performance evidence and schedule. Rombo does not promise a particular star rating.
Does BEE labelling replace BIS requirements?
No. Energy labelling and product-safety conformity may address different obligations. Both should be reviewed where applicable.
Important to know
Performance schedules and label conditions can change. Confirm the current requirements for the model and intended sale period; BEE retains the approval role.
