About this service

A Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) — is a key quality control procedure conducted before goods are shipped. As an essential part of supply chain management, PSI helps buyers ensure that product quality meets the agreed specifications and reduces the risk of costly issues upon arrival.

What a PSI Includes

A PSI verifies that production aligns with the buyer’s requirements or the terms of a purchase order or letter of credit. Inspections are typically carried out when at least 80% of the order is produced and export-packed. Samples are selected at random based on internationally recognized standards and procedures.

Standard Pre-Shipment Inspection Checklist:

  • Verification of product specifications and any special customer requirements
  • Size and measurement checks
  • Size and measurement checks
  • Packaging evaluation and drop testing
  • Inspection of labels, barcodes, markings, and logos
  • Assessment of aesthetics, workmanship, surface quality, and visual defects
  • On-site functional checks and basic regulatory/safety tests

Additional Inspection Services

To support quality throughout the entire production cycle, the following inspection options are also available:

  • During Production Check (DUPRO) : Conducted once approximately 20% or more of the goods are completed
  • Initial Production Inspection (IPI): Performed at the start of production or on raw materials and components
  • Random Product Sampling: Selection of product samples for independent review or shipment to the client
  • Container Loading Check (CLC): Verification of products, quantities, and loading conditions before dispatch
  • Production Monitoring: Continuous, on-site monitoring to track quality and schedule performance

Why Pre-Shipment Inspection Matters

A PSI provides the final opportunity to identify and correct issues before products are shipped, serving as an effective safeguard against import risks. It also helps reduce issues associated with online transactions, including fraud and misrepresentation.
