On-Site Tests Performed During Furniture Quality Inspections
Our furniture inspection protocols include thorough performance, safety, and durability testing to ensure products meet international quality standards. Key on-site tests include:
1. Assembly & Instruction Compliance
- Assembly check for each item
- Verification of assembly ease by following product instructions (2 pcs per item
2. Humidity (Moisture) Content Test — S1
- Measure 3 points per piece and calculate the average: (a + b + c) / 3
- Indoor furniture: 7% – 12% moisture content
- Outdoor furniture: 8% – 14% moisture content
3. Static Loading Test for Chairs — S1
- Apply 300 lbs to the seating surface for 1 hour
- No visible deformation is acceptable
4. Stability Test (Incline Test)
- Test 2 pcs per item
- Place unit on a 10° incline and rotate 360° slowly
- The item must not tip over
5. Wobble Test — II
- Place sample on a flat glass surface
- No wobbling should occur
6. Finger Entrapment Test (If Applicable) — S1
- Acceptable spacing must be < 1/4 inch or > 1/2 inch
- Ensures fingers cannot get trapped or harmed
7. Leg Strength Test (Front / Side) — S1
- Apply 75 lbs force to the leg, 1 inch from the end
- Test force applied in 4 directions: forward, rearward, left, and right
8. Durability of Folding Mechanism (If Applicable) — S1
- Test fold/unfold durability and verify functional performance
9. Accessories Verification — II
- Check all accessories against the parts list
- No missing components allowed
10. Carton Drop Test (Packaging Integrity)
Drop height depends on carton weight:
Sequence: 1 corner, 3 edges, 6 sides
Surface: Cement floor
| Carton Weight | Drop Height |
|---|---|
| < 9.5 kg | 30 inches |
| 9.5 – 18.6 kg | 24 inches |
| 18.6 – 27.7 kg | 18 inches |
| 27.7 – 45.3 kg | 12 inches |
| 45.3 – 68 kg | 6 inches |
11. Loading Test — S1
- Load distributed evenly across surface
- Load limits:
- 4 sq. ft.: 10 lbs/sq. ft.
- < 4 sq. ft.: 20 lbs/sq. ft.
- Maximum total load: 200 lbs
- Acceptable result: ≤ 1/4 inch deformation and no component malfunction
12. Stability Test — S1
- Test load applied 1 inch from the edge using a 12-inch disc
- Load limits:
- 4 sq. ft.: 50 lbs
- < 4 sq. ft.: 40 lbs
- Acceptable result: ≤ 1/4 inch deformation, no failure
13. Drop Impact Test (Tables) — S1
- Drop one end of the table from a height of 10 inches
- Check for structural integrity and deformation
